Our prediction for this Champions League match:
All eyes will be on Allianz Arena when Bayern Munich and Manchester City face each other in the Champions League quarter-finals, second leg. The Bavarians need a big win in the return leg as they need to overcome a three-goal deficit, and they are likely to go all-out attack in the reverse fixture. Bayern Munich, though, failed to impress in a 1-1 draw with Hoffenheim at the weekend, which is probably the main reason why home win should not be considered. All Choupo-Moting, Theo Hernandez, and Manuel Neuer are sidelined with injuries.
The Citizens, on the other hand, have found their rhythm in April, with the team scoring goals for fun. Since Pep Guardiola’s troops will have a number of opportunities to score on the break, we believe that there is a big value in betting on over 2.5 goals. Phil Foden is a major doubt, while there are no fresh injury worries in the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Thomas Muller):
Thomas Muller is pacey attacker who plays for Bayern Munich and German national team. Muller is a product of Bayern Munich’s youth academy and he played 35 games for the reserve team, scoring 16 goals in the process.
The German striker, who is capable of producing fine performances as a winger as well, won the Champions League trophy with Bayern Munich in 2013 as the mighty Bavarians defeated fellow Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in the final of the elite competition. Muller clinched the FIFA World Cup trophy with Germany in 2014, while making it to the European Championship final in 2012. It has to be noted that he won the FIFA World Cup Golden Boot in 2010.
Thomas Muller has a contract with Bayern Munich which expires on 30 June, 2021. The German footballer, who was born in Weilheim in Oberbayern on 13 September, 1989, won his fifth Bundesliga trophy with Bayern Munich in the 2015/2016 season.
Highlighted Team (Man City):
Manchester City are the lest famous of the two major clubs based in Manchester. The club was founded in 1880, but they have been struggling in the English Premier League in the past. Nonetheless, ever since the club was purchased by Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008, the Citizens have been playing an important role in the English top flight.
Manchester City won two Premier League trophies under Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini (2011/2012 and 2013/2014), but both managers eventually paid the price for some disappointing results. Man City play their home games at the Etihad Stadium and the stadium capacity is 55,097.
Manchester United are regarded as Manchester City’s biggest rivals and the likes of Kun Aguero, Carlos Tevez, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Uwe Rosler, Yaya Toure, Sylvain Distin are some of the most remarkable players that played for the Etihad Stadium outfit. Manchester City have won four Premier League titles and five FA Cup trophies and it has to be noted that they made it to the Champions League semis in the 2015/2016 season.
