Sporting CP and Olympique Marseille square off against each other at Estadio Jose Alvalade in what is expected to be one of the most exciting games of Wednesday’s program. The Lions aim to retain first place in Group D, but this game will be anything but a walk in the park for the Portuguese outfit. Since first-choice goalkeeper Antonio Adan misses the match through suspension, home win should not be considered.
The likes of Braganca, Cabral, Neto, and Porro have been struggling with injuries of late. OM, on the other hand, proved their worth in a 4-1 crushing of Sporting at Stade Velodrome, but beating the Lions on the road is easier said than done. After ending his spell with English club Sunderland, the Uruguay international moved to Portugal, signing a loan deal with Sporting CP in January 2016. He signed a permanent contract with the Lions in February 2017.
Speaking of his international career, Sebastian Coastes made his full Uruguay debut against Chile at the 2011 Copa America. La Celeste won the trophy, with the team beating Paraguay 3-0 in the final of the competition at Estadio Monumental Antonio Vespucio Liberti in Buenos Aires. Coates wears the number 4 shirt at Sporting CP, and his preferred foot is right.
