Our prediction for this Copa del Rey match:
All eyes will be on at Estadio Municipal de Riazor when Deportivo La Coruna and Osasuna face each other in a highly-anticipated Copa del Rey game. The Galicians defeated UCAM Murcia after extra-time to set up a meeting with Osasuna, and they must be high on spirits following a 3-0 league win over Valladolid Promesas. Since Deportivo have turned their “Riazor” into a real fortress, we believe that home win should be considered.
A man to keep an eye on in the home team will be Alberto Quiles, who scored a brace at the weekend. Los Rojillos, on the other hand, did well to hold Barcelona to a 2-2 draw in their last La Liga game. Osasuna, though, are not regarded as good travelers, and given their four-match goalless run on the road in Primera Division, home triumph should be considered. All Areso, Ibanez, and Perez Juan should miss out with injuries for the away team.
Highlighted Player (Roberto Torres):
After scoring 23 goals in 132 appearances for Osasuna B, Roberto Torres made his first-team debut on 11 December 2011. He came as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Malaga, but he played no more than two league games for los Rojillos in the 2011/2012 La Liga campaign. However, he was making progress year by year and he made 42 appearances for Osasuna in the 2015/2016 Segunda Division campaign.
Roberto Torres is one of the players who helped the team secure promotion to Primera Division and it has to be noted that the midfielder scored 12 goals in the 2015/2016 season.
Roberto Torres’ contract with Osasuna expires in 2018. The 178-cm-tall player was born in Pamplona, on 7 March, 1989. His main position is attacking midfielder, but he is capable of playing as a central midfielder as well. He scored his first goal in Primera Division in a 2-4 loss to Real Madrid in the 2012/2013 campaign.
Highlighted Team (Osasuna):
Osasuna are a Basque football team that plays in Spanish La Liga. Los Rojillos are based in Pamplona and and the club were founded in 1920. Estadio El Sadar has been the home of Osasuna since 1967 and the capacity of the stadium is 19,800.
The colour of Osasuna’s home kit is red, while the team’s shorts are navy blue. Los Rojillos dropped to the Segunda Division at the end of the 2013/2014 La Liga campaign, but they did not spend too many time in the Spanish second tier. The club returned to the elite division in 2016 after beating Girona in the play-offs.
Osasuna made it to the Spanish Copa del Rey final in 2005, but they eventually lost to Real Betis after extra time in the title game. The meaning of the word Osasuna is “health” in Basque and it is used in a sense of strength.
