Our prediction for this Coppa Italia match:
David faces Goliath at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona as Napoli and Empoli go head to head in the Coppa Italia last 16. The Neapolitans quickly bounced back from a shocking loss to Spezia, with the team beating Udinese on the road in their last Serie A game. Genaro Gattuso’s troops are a real force to be reckoned with at home, and seeing that they have slim chances of winning Scudetto, we predict that they are going to beat Empoli in the Italian Cup clash.
The Serie B side, on the other hand, rolled over Brescia 3-0 at home in the previous round, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in Wednesday’s showdown. Greece international Konstantinos Manolas, who suffered an injury in the 2-1 win over Udinese, is unlikely to feature against Empoli, but regardless of which players will be deployed in the starting XI, home win should be considered.
