A spot in the EFL Cup round 2 will be at stake when Huddersfield Town and Middlesbrough go head to head at John Smith’s Stadium on Tuesday evening. The Terriers suffered a 3-1 loss to Plymouth in their Championship opener and, no doubt, they are eager to make amends for the defeat. Matthew Pearson limped off with injury in Saturday’s clash, with Jonathan Hogg likely to step up.
Talented Wales forward Patrick Jones is pushing for a start as well. The Boro, meanwhile, aim to recover from the Championship loss to Millwall. Anyhow, the share of spoils is on the cards as Huddersfield are tough to beat at home. Daniel Ward is a goalkeeper who was born on 22 June, 1993 in Wrexham, Wales. The 191-cm-tall shoot-stopper is a product of Wrexham Academy, but he did not make his senior debut for the club. After spending the 2010/2011 season at Tamworth, Danny Ward returned to Wrexham and on 30 January, 2012 he joined Liverpool for a fee of £100,000.
He made just two league appearances for the Anfield outfit and in 2015 he signed a loan deal with Morecambe. On 23 June he signed a new five-year deal with Liverpool, but he was soon sent on loan to Aberdeen. He played 21 games for the Scottish outfit and on 11 July, 2016 he signed a season-long deal with Championship team Huddersfield Town.
Danny Ward has 4 caps for Wales U21 team and he made his senior debut for the Dragons in a friendly against Northern Ireland on 24 March, 2016. Ward represented his homeland at the 2016 European Championship finals in France as he started the game against Slovakia.
