Our prediction for this EFL Cup match:
Buoyed by a 2-0 win over Bournemouth, Liverpool will look to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they take on Tottenham in the EFL Cup semis, return leg. The Reds aim to overcome a one-goal deficit in front of home fans and they are likely to go all guns blazing at Spurs in Thursday’s clash. As always, a man to keep an eye on in the home team will be Mohamed Salah, who scored a brace at the weekend, while Uruguay striker Darwin Nunez is pushing for a start. The good news for the hosts is that defender Joe Gomez has overcome his injury.
The capital club, on the other hand, did well to beat Brentford in the London derby, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry against Arne Slot’s troops. As Liverpool are a real force to be reckoned with at Anfield, we predict that Ange Postecoglou’s men are going to return home with their hands empty. Tottenham’s injury list is pretty long, including the likes of Brennan Johnson, Guglielmo Vicario, Timo Werner, Dominic Solanke, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, and Radu Dragusin.
Highlighted Player (Mohamed Salah):

Mohamed Salah is considered one of the best African players. Salah began his senior career at El Mokawloon, scoring 11 goals in 41 league appearances for the club and in 2012 he moved to Europe, signing a four-year deal with Swiss side Basel.
The pacey winger, who is capable of playing as a striker as well was producing outstanding displays for the RotBlau from 2012 to 2014 and, as a result, Chelsea chiefs decided to sign him on 26 January, 2015 for a fee of £11 million. Mohamed Salah, though, failed to impress in the Premier league and one year later he was sent on loan to Fiorentina.
After making 16 league appearances for the Viola in the Serie A, the left-footed winger signed a loan deal with Roma on 6 August, 2015. The Romans made the contract permanent on 3 August, 2016. Speaking of his international career, Salah made his Egypt debut on 3 September, 2011 in a 2-1 loss to Sierra Leone. It has to be noted that he was named Roma’s player of the season (2015/2016).
Highlighted Team (Tottenham):

Tottenham Hotspur are a professional football club based in North London. Spurs host their rivals at White Hart Lane and the capacity of the stadium is 36,284. Tottenham won the Premier League (First Division) trophy in 1950/1951 and 1960/1961 and despite producing terrific displays in the 2015/2016 campaign Mauro Pochettino’s team eventually finished the season in third place in the standings.
Tottenham’s bitter rivals are Arsenal, but Chelsea and West Ham United are regarded as the team’s fierce opponents as well. Spurs have won eight FA Cup trophies, with the team also lifting the 1962/1963 UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup title.
Tottenham Hotspur hammered Atletico Madrid in the final of the competition back then (5-1). The likes of David Ginola, Sol Campbell, Teddy Sheringham, Jurgen Klinsmann, Gary Lineker, Luka Modric, Robbie Keane and Gareth Bale are star players that used to play for the White Hart Lane outfit in the past. The colour of Tottenham Hotspur’s home kit is white.
