Our prediction for this EFL Cup match:
Leicester City will look to get their revenge on Newcastle United for a heavy Premier League defeat (0-3) when the two teams face each other in the EFL Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday. The Magpies aim to recover from the FA Cup loss to Sheffield Wednesday, and they will give 100% to put an end to their three-match winless run in all competitions. All Trippier, Almiron, and Guimaraes should be recalled to the starting XI, while Allan Saint-Maximin (illness) and Jonjoo Shelvey (calf injury) remain on the sidelines.
The Foxes, on the other hand, aim to save the season by going all the way in the EFL Cup, but seeing that Newcastle have turned their St. James’ Park in to a real fortress, we are tempted to put our money on the home side. Tuesday’s clash comes too early for Dennis Praet, with James Maddison missing out with injury as well. Kelechi Iheanacho could keep his place up front after scoring the winner in the FA Cup triumph over Gillingham.
