Our prediction for this EFL Cup match:
There will be fireworks when Wolverhampton and Tottenham square off against each other at Molineux Stadium in what is expected to be a very interesting EFL Cup game. The Wolves have been having their ups and downs of late, but they suffered a shocking 2-0 loss to Brentford in front of home fans at the weekend. Bruno Lage’s men are eager to get back on course, but this match will be anything but a walk in the park for the hosts.
Spurs, on the other hand, aim to make amends for a heart-breaking loss to Chelsea in the London derby. Since both sides are likely to go for a win in Wednesday’s clash, we are tempted to put our money on both teams to score. The likes of Bueno, Jonny, and Neto are injured for the hosts, while Sessegnon, Lucas, and Bergwijn miss out for the visitors. Defender Tanganga, though, is back from suspension.
Highlighted Player (Adama Traore):
After starting his youth career at Hospitalet, Adama Traore moved to Barcelona football academy La Masia in 2004. The pacey winger made a great progress during his spell with the Catalan giants and it has to be noted that he scored eight goals in 63 appearances for Barca B.
Adama Traore made his debut for the first team against Granada (4-0) on November 23, 2013, replacing Brazilian superstar Neymar in the 83rd minute of the match. In the summer of 2015, he signed for Aston Villa for a fee of £7 million, but he made no more than 11 appearances in the Premier League for the Vilans. At the end of the 2015/2016 season he moved to fellow English club Middlesbrough and he made his debut for the Boro in a 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace on September 10, 2016.
Due to his dual citizenship, Adama Traore is eligible to represent Spain and Mali at senior level, but it has to be noted that he played for youth categories of La Roja.
Highlighted Team (Tottenham):
Tottenham Hotspur are a professional football club based in North London. Spurs host their rivals at White Hart Lane and the capacity of the stadium is 36,284. Tottenham won the Premier League (First Division) trophy in 1950/1951 and 1960/1961 and despite producing terrific displays in the 2015/2016 campaign Mauro Pochettino’s team eventually finished the season in third place in the standings.
Tottenham’s bitter rivals are Arsenal, but Chelsea and West Ham United are regarded as the team’s fierce opponents as well. Spurs have won eight FA Cup trophies, with the team also lifting the 1962/1963 UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup title.
Tottenham Hotspur hammered Atletico Madrid in the final of the competition back then (5-1). The likes of David Ginola, Sol Campbell, Teddy Sheringham, Jurgen Klinsmann, Gary Lineker, Luka Modric, Robbie Keane and Gareth Bale are star players that used to play for the White Hart Lane outfit in the past. The colour of Tottenham Hotspur’s home kit is white.
