After dropping two points in a goalless draw with Beerschot VA, Gent will be aiming to return to winning ways when they take on Omonia on Thursday afternoon. Gent are eyeing their second win of the new Conference League campaign and they are seen as favourites to pick up all three points from the match. The likes of Hjulsager, Kums, and Omgba remain in the recovery room, but there are no new selection worries in the Belgian team.
The Cypriotes, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 2-0 loss to Hearts and given their difficulties on the road, we predict that Gent are going to emerge triumphant in Thursday’s encounter at Planet Group Arena. In their last meeting in a competitive match Omonia defeated Gent 2-0, meaning that the hosts are hungry for revenge. Experienced forward Stevan Jovetic should be the only absentee in the away team.

Belgian defender Sven Kums began his youth career at Dilbeek Sport and in 1996 he joined Anderlecht. Despite spending seven years at the club, he did not see any game action with the Belgian giants at senior level. After ending his loan spells with the likes of Lierse and Kortrijk, he signed a permanent deal with de Kerels in 2008.
The 176-cm-tall midfielder, who was born on 26 February, 1988, scored 12 goals in 116 league appearances for Kortrijk and in 2011 he moved to Netherlands, signing a contract with Heerenveen. In 2013 he returned to Belgium, joining Zulte Waregem.
In the summer of 2014 he moved to fellow Belgian outfit Gent and at the end of the 2015/2016 season he signed a loan deal with Udinese. Kums has 12 caps for Belgium U21 and it has to be noted that his father Ludo Kums is working as a coach at Anderlecht. Sven Kums is a centre midfielder, but he plays as both attacking midfielder and defensive midfielder as well.

Founded on June 4, 1948, Omonia are considered one of the most famous clubs in the history of Cyprus football. The Queen welcome their opponents at GSP Stadium in Nicosia. The venue was opened in 1999 and it can hold up to 22,859 spectators.
However, the stadium’s record attendance is 23,043. Omonoia are the second most successful club in Omonia, with the team winning 20 domestic championships, eight less than APOEL. On the other hand, the club clinched their 14th Cypriot Cup title in the 2011/12 season.
