Our prediction for this Europa League match:
Thursday’s football game at Lotto Park pits together Anderlecht and Hoffenheim, the two teams that were beaten by Plzen and Tottenham respectively in the Europa League round 7. The Belgians are eager to secure a top-eight finish and we are positive that they will adopt an attack-minded approach in the decider. Star winger Thorgan Hazard returns to the starting XI, while both Kasper Dolberg and Jan Vertonghen remain on the sidelines with injuries.
Hoffenheim, on the other hand, head into the match with a severely-weakened squad. With all Baumann, Bebou, Kabak, Lenz, Promel, Tabakovic, Tohumcu, and Samassekou missing out with injuries, we are tempted to place our bets on Anderlecht. Both Gift Orban and Erencan Yardimci are ineligible for the Europa League games, while Austria international Florian Grillitsch faces race against the clock to be fit for the Lotto Park showdown.
Highlighted Player (Pavel Kaderabek):
Pavel Kaderabek is a Czech Republic defender born on 25 April 1992, who has enjoyed a bright start to his professional career. Coming through the youth ranks at Sparta Prague and gaining some first team experience during a loan spell with Viktoria Zizkov, the right-sided defender was finally able to show what he is capable of during the 2012/2013 season and he didn’t need a lot of time to make the next step in his career.
After scoring impressive 10 goals in 76 league appearances for Sparta Prague, Kaderabek joined Bundesliga side Hoffenheim in the summer of 2015, shortly after he had established himself as a starting right-back in the Czech Republic national team.
The talented footballer helped Repre make it to the Euro 2016 finals by starting 9 qualifying matches, once again proving his killer instinct by scoring two goals. Pavel Kaderabek looks set to become one of leading players of the new generation and a big club move may not be far away either.
Highlighted Team (Anderlecht):
Founded on 27 May, 1908, Anderlecht are considered one of the oldest clubs in Belgium. The Paars-wit are the dominant force in the Belgian Pro League and in 2014 they won their 33rd domestic trophy. Anderlecht did remarkably well to win the UEFA Super Cup title in 1983, with the team defeating Benfica in the final of the competition.
The Belgian outfit recorded a 1-0 over the Eagles in the first leg, with the two teams playing out a 1-1 draw in the return leg. Anderlecht play their home games at Constant Vanden Stock Stadium, the venue that was opened in 1917. The stadium was renovated in 1983 and current capacity of Anderlecht’s home ground is 28 063.
The Paars-wit have long-standing rivalries with the likes of Standard Liege and Club Brugge, whilst FC Brussels were considered the club’s bitter opponents in the past. The likes of Besnik Hasi, Lucas Biglia, Filip De Wilde and Romelu Lukaku are some of Anderlecht’s notable players.
