Our prediction for this Europa League match:
Thursday’s football game between Austria Wien and Fenerbahce will bring down the curtain on the Europa League playoffs, first leg. The Austrians have been having their ups and downs at the start of the new Bundesliga campaign, but their display in a 2-1 win over Tirol is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the Europa League clash. Keep in mind, though, that all Baltaxa, El Sheiwi, Gruber, Handl, Holland, and Raguz should miss out with injuries.
The Turks, on the other hand, proved their worth in the double-header with Slovacko (4-1 on agg), and seeing that summer signing Joshua King is back to the starting XI, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the visitors. Both Aziz and Sangare are sidelined with injuries for the Turkish outfit, while Joao Pedro is a major doubt.
Highlighted Player (Mesut Ozil):
Mesut Ozil gained international recognition at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The attacking midfielder impressed with Germany at the showpiece tournament and, as a result, Real Madrid chiefs decided to sign him.
Ozil won the 2011/2012 La Liga trophy with los Blancos and, against all odds, the club bosses decided to sell him to Arsenal at the end of the 2012/2013 campaign. The Turkish-born player scored 19 goals for Real Madrid in 105 appearances for the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu outfit.
On the other hand, Mesut Ozil has yet to win the Premier League with Arsenal, but he helped North London club lift two FA Cup titles (2013/2014, 2014/2015). In 2014 Ozil lifted the FIFA World Cup trophy with Germany and, no doubt, that is regarded as the biggest success of his career. The German international used to play for Werder Bremen and Schalke 04 in the past as well.
Highlighted Team (Fenerbahce):
Fenerbahce are one of the biggest football clubs in Turkey. The Kanaryalar were founded on 3 May, 1907 as Fenerbahce Futbol Kulubu. Fener won their first domestic trophy in 1959 and they quickly established themselves as one of the main forces in Turkish football.
In 2014 Fenerbahce clinched their 19th league title, with the team finishing the season nine points clear of Besiktas. Galatasaray are considered Fener’s bitterest rivals and the two teams face each other in Kitalar Arasi Derbi. The rivalry between the clubs started back in 1934, when a friendly between the two teams was abandoned due to riots. Besiktas are regarded as Fenerbahce’s big rivals as well.
The likes of Mujdat Yetkiner, Zeki Riza Sporel, Aykut Kocaman, Emre Belozoglu, Alex, Nicolas Anelka, Diego Lugano, Roberto Carlos and Dirk Kuyt are famous footballers who played for the club in the past. The Kanaryalar play their home games at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, the venue that was opened in 1908. Fener’s home kits are navy blue and yellow.
