Our prediction for this Europa League match:
Helsinki play host to Fenerbahce at their Bolt Arena in what is expected to be one of the most exciting games of Thursday’s program. HJK produced a fine display in the first leg, but the Turks eventually won the game thanks to Muhammed Gusmuskaya’s goal. Since the Finns were not in action in the national championship at the weekend, home win should be considered. Fener, on the other hand, are on a quest to defend their slim lead at Bolt Arena.
All Dursun, Pelkas, and Yandas are likely to miss the game with injuries, while Ecuador star Enner Valencia returns to the starting XI after he was rested in the league game against Antalyaspor. Anyhow, we are tempted to put our money on HJK as Fenerbahce are not regarded as good travelers. Aforementioned winger Muhammed Gusmuskaya is pushing for a start as well.
Highlighted Player (Garry Rodrigues):
Garry Rodriguez is a Cape Verde international who was born in Rotterdam on November 27, 1990. Rodrigues started his youth career at his hometown club Feyenoord and in 2007 he moved to Real SC. The pacey winger made his senior debut as a XerxesDZB player during the 2009/2010 season and after scoring two goals in 15 appearances in the league, he left the club in 2011.
The Cape Verde footballer played for the likes of Rostocker, Boshuizen, Den Haag, Dordrecht, Levski Sofia, Elche and PAOK before joining Galatasaray in 2017. Rodrigues quickly established himself as a first team regular at Gala and he played an important role in Fatih Terim’s team that won the Turkish Super Lig in the 2017/2018 season.
Speaking of his international career, Garry Rodrigues made his debut for Cape Verde national team in August, 2013 against Gabon. The Galatasaray winger represented Cape Verde at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
Highlighted Team (Fenerbahce):
Fenerbahce are one of the biggest football clubs in Turkey. The Kanaryalar were founded on 3 May, 1907 as Fenerbahce Futbol Kulubu. Fener won their first domestic trophy in 1959 and they quickly established themselves as one of the main forces in Turkish football.
In 2014 Fenerbahce clinched their 19th league title, with the team finishing the season nine points clear of Besiktas. Galatasaray are considered Fener’s bitterest rivals and the two teams face each other in Kitalar Arasi Derbi. The rivalry between the clubs started back in 1934, when a friendly between the two teams was abandoned due to riots. Besiktas are regarded as Fenerbahce’s big rivals as well.
The likes of Mujdat Yetkiner, Zeki Riza Sporel, Aykut Kocaman, Emre Belozoglu, Alex, Nicolas Anelka, Diego Lugano, Roberto Carlos and Dirk Kuyt are famous footballers who played for the club in the past. The Kanaryalar play their home games at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, the venue that was opened in 1908. Fener’s home kits are navy blue and yellow.
