Our prediction for this FA Cup match:
Craven Cottage will host Saturday’s FA Cup game between Fulham and Sunderland, the two teams who meet for the first time since April 2018. Back then the Cottagers defeated the Black Cats 2-1, meaning that the visitors are hungry for revenge. Fulham, though, are seen as favourites to win this tie as they are enjoying a Premier League season to remember. As always, a man to keep an eye on in the home team will be Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has netted 11 goals in the national championship so far this term.
Meanwhile, the visitors head into the game following a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough, but they will have a mountain to climb in London. Since Marco Silva’s men are eager to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Spurs, home win should be considered. All Alex Pritchard, Dennis Cirkin, and Elliot Embleton are out of contention with injuries, speaking of the away side.
Highlighted Player (Issa Diop):
After spending two years at Balma SC, Issa Diop joined Toulouse football academy in 2006 and he was making progress year by year. The 194-cm-tall defender made seven appearances for Toulouse B in the 2014/2015 season and he made his Ligue 1 debut with les Pitchouns on November 28, 2015 against Nice.
Issa Diop, who was born in Toulouse on January 9, 1997, scored his first ever goal in the French top flight in a 3-0 win over Troyes in December, 2015. Diop is a youth international for France at various levels, but seeing that his father Labysse Diop is of Senegal descent, the Toulouse footballer could represent les Lions de la Teranga at senior level.
The Toulouse defender scored two goals for les Pitchouns in the 2016/2017 Ligue 1 campaign and he made no less than 30 appearances for the club in the process. Issa Diop has a contract with Toulouse which expires on June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Sunderland):
Sunderland are a professional football club that have been playing their home games at the Stadium of Light since 1997. The capacity of the stadium is 49,000, but before expansion the original ground capacity was 42,000. Red and White shirts are Sunderland’s trademark and the club’s fiercest rivals are Newcastle United. The two local rivals have been contesting in the Tyne-Wear derby since 1898 and there have always been fireworks in what is one of the greatest derbies in English football. Sunderland were on the verge of dropping to the Championship in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign, but experienced tactician Sam Allardyce eventually helped the team avoid relegation.
The Black Cats have won six First Division trophies (now the Premier League), with the team lifting two FA Cup titles. Sunderland won their first FA Cup trophy in 1937, with the team beating Preston North End 3-1 in the title game. The club was founded in 1879 as Sunderland and District Teachers A.F.C.
