BC Place will host Wednesday’s Group B game between Canada and Honduras, the two teams that meet at the Gold Cup for the first time since 2017. Back then the two sides played out a goalless draw, but the Canucks are seen as hot favourites to win this match. Bayern Munich ace Alphonso Davies has been ruled out with injury and, in his absence, the likes of Jonathan David and Tajon Buchanan will be the men to watch in the home team. Vice-captain Stephen Eustaquio will miss the group stages due to his participation at the FIFA Club World Cup with Porto.

Canada national football team played their first official match back in 1924 when they suffered a 3-2 loss to Australia in Brisbane. The following year the two teams faced each other one in Adelaide, with the Canadians managing to get their revenge on the Socceroos.
