Our prediction for this Gold Cup match:
Haiti and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines go head to head at DRV PNK Stadium in the Gold Cup qualifiers. Haiti are low on confidence following a defeat to Canada in the World Cup qualifiers, but they are still seen as favourites to win Friday’s clash. A man to watch in the home team will be St. Truiden attacker Duckens Nazon, who has netted 23 goals in 44 appearances for the Haiti national team to date.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, on the other hand, head into the match following a 1-0 loss to Cuba in the World Cup qualifier. Considering that the minnows experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 10-0 loss to Guatemala, we are tempted to put our money on Haiti this time out. In their last meeting in a competitive match Haiti outplayed Saint Vincent and the Grenadines 3-1.
Highlighted Player (Wilde-Donald Guerrier):
Wilde-Donald Guerrier is considered one of the best Haiti footballers. Guerrier played for Violette AC and America des Cayes before joining Polish side Wisla Krakow in 2013. After scoring 20 goals in 75 appearances for the Biala Gwiazda, the Haiti international moved to Turkey, signing a deal with Alanyaspor.
In 2017 Wild-Donald Guerrier joined Qarabag and he has been playing for the Azeri side ever since. He scored his first ever goal in the Champions League on July 11, 2017 in Qarabag’s 5-0 win over Samtredia in the qualifiers for the group stages of the elite competition. Qarabag became the first team to reach the group stages of the Champions League in the 2017/2018 season.
Speaking of his international career, Wild-Donald Guerrier scored his first goal for Haiti in a 2-1 loss to Spain in June, 2013. His main position is left-back, but he is used as a left midfielder as well. Guerrier’s preferred foot is left.
