Austria
England and Austria take on each other at Riverside Stadium in a highly-anticipated pre-EURO friendly. The Three Lions have big ambitions for the upcoming showpiece tournament, but they will have to prove their worth on the field. Man Utd defender Harry Maguire has been struggling with injury of late, and he is unlikely to be risked in Wednesday’s warm-up game. A man to keep an eye on in the home team will be Tottenham attacker Harry Kane.
The Austrians, on the other hand, will be without experienced attacker Marko Arnautovic in the Riverside Stadium clash as he has been struggling with a muscle injury. In his absence, a man to keep an eye on in the away team will be Bayern Munchen defender David Alaba. Anyhow, England are more of a team than Austria, and we predict that Gareth Southgate’s troops are going to pick up all three points from the match.

Widely regarded as one of England’s best strikers at the moment, Harry Kane enjoyed a meteoric rise at Tottenham Hotspur, scoring 21 Premier League goals during the 2014/2015 campaign to be voted PFA Young Player of the Year.
The highly rated striker went on to surpass that achievement the following season as he helped Tottenham Hotspur mount a serious title challenge for the first time in club’s recent history and he made seamless transition to international football. Kane scored four goals in his first ten appearances for England to prove he was here to stay and at the same time established himself as a first choice striker in Roy Hodgson’s squad ahead of the Euro 2016 finals.
Kane is a modern striker, who is extremely dangerous in the opposition box, but it was some outstanding goals from distance as well as link-up play with teammates that earned him an excellent reputation in world football. Kane is expected to lead both Tottenham and England in years to come, that is if he can resist the lure of top European clubs that continue to cast admiring glances his way.

Austria is one of Europe’s oldest national football teams and they enjoyed plenty of success during the 1930’s, earning the nickname Wunderteam in the process. Das Team achieved a fourth-place finish at the second World Cup in 1934, before finishing in third place at the 1954 finals. However, Austria have since participated at another five World Cup finals, never getting past the first knockout stage.
