Our prediction for this match:
Tuesday’s friendly at Pankritio Stadium pits together Greece and Bulgaria, the two teams that meet for the first time since February 2004. Back then, Greece defeated Bulgaria 2-0 in a friendly and the hosts are seen as hot favourites to win the midweek clash as well. As Ivan Jovanovic’s men produced a brilliant performance in a 4-1 win over Slovakia at the weekend, home triumph should definitely be considered. Como forward Anastasios Douvikas is pushing for a start after scoring as a substitute in the last warm-up game.
Ilian Iliev’s men, on the other hand, head into the match following a 2-2 draw with Cyprus and given their shaky defence, we predict that Greece are going to emerge triumphant in Tuesday’s encounter. All Dimitar Sheytanov (goalkeeper), Georgi Rusev (forward), and Marin Petkov (forward) are pushing for a start as Bulgaria boss Iliev is expected to mix the squad.
Highlighted Player (Kostas Fortounis):

Born in Trikala Greece on 16 October, 1992, Kostas Fortounis made his senior debut for his hometown club Trikala in the 2009/2010 Gamma Ethniki campaign. After playing 13 games for the club he moved to Asteras Tripolis at the end of the season.
In 2011 the Greek midfielder moved to Germany, signing a deal with Kaiserslautern. Fortounis made 70 league appearances for Kaiser, scoring two goals from 2011 to 2014. On 22 July, 2014 he returned to Greece, signing a four-year contract with Olympiacos. It has to be noted that he played for the Thrylos during his youth career (2003-2008).
Kostas Fortounis made his Greece debut against Belgium in February, 2012 and he represented his homeland at the 2012 European Championship finals. However, he was left out of the Greece 2014 FIFA World Cup squad. His main position is attacking midfielder, but he is capable of playing as a winger as well. Fortounis won two Greek Superleague titles (2014/2015, 2015/2016) with Olympiakos.
Highlighted Team (Bulgaria):

Bulgaria national football team are well known for their “Golden generation” of players led by Hristo Stoichkov. The Bulgarian football legend was producing thrilling performances for the national team at the 1994 FIFA World Cup in USA and he helped the Lions make it to the semi-finals of the tournament.
The likes of Trifon Ivanov, Krasimir Balakov and Yordan Letchkov enjoyed a very successful tournament as well and, no doubt, they recorded a historical result at the 1994 FIFA World Cup. The Bulgarians defeated Germany in the quarter-finals, but Italy proved to be a big catch for Dimitar Penev’s team. Bulgaria eventually suffered a heavy loss to Sweden in the third-place playoffs. Nowadays, Bulgaria struggle in qualifiers for major tournaments and it has to be noted that they have not participated at the finals since 1994.
Vasil Levski National Stadium is considered Bulgaria’s home ground and the capacity of the stadium is 43.320. Bulgaria wear white shirts, green shorts and white socks when playing at home, whilst green and red are their second colours.
