Our prediction for this match:
Following a 4-2 loss to Switzerland, Mexico will look to return to winning ways when they take on Turkey in a highly-anticipated friendly. El Tri produced a poor defensive display against the Rossocrociati and, to make things even worse for boss Javier Aguirre, Lokomotiv Moscow defender Cesar Montes limped off with injury ten minutes before the final whistle. As a result, Marcel Ruiz is widely expected to start against Turkey.
Vincenzo Montella’s men, on the other hand, are eyeing their fourth consecutive win in all competitions. Given Turkey’s attacking potential and Mexico’s desire to get back on course, a high-scoring affair is on the cards at Kenan Memorial Stadium. Galatasaray defender Eren Elmali is unlikely to feature in Sunday’s clash after picking up a knock in a 2-1 win over USA. As before, a man to watch in the away team will be Real Madrid ace Arda Guler, who scored the opener against the Yanks.
Highlighted Player (Hakan Calhanoglu):

Hakan Calhanoglu is another one in the long line of Turkish footballers who were born in Germany, so it is hardly surprising he came to prominence thanks to his performances in Bundesliga. The attacking midfielder with great vision and very good goalscoring record started his professional career at Karlsruher, scoring impressive 17 goals in 50 league outings to earn a move to Bundesliga side Hamburg.
The spell at Imtech Arena was merely a stepping stone for bigger things as 11 goals in his debut top flight campaign persuaded Bayer Leverkusen to splash nearly €15 million on his services. That proved a very good investment as Calhanoglu continued the rich vein of form, and it is now a matter of time before he joins one of European powerhouses.
The midfield maestro had a bright start to his career in the Turkey national team, scoring 5 goals in first 16 caps, and chances are he will become a leader for Milli Takim in the foreseeable future.
Highlighted Team (Mexico):

Football was brought below the United States border by European immigrants who build the foundations for what went on to become one of the most prominent footballing nations in the world. El Tri have qualified to the total of 15 World Cups and have become one of six nations to qualify successfully for the tournament since 1994.
Alongside Brazil and Germany, Mexico are the only country to make it past the group stage over the last six World Cups so it is fair to say that miners from Cornwall and Spanish exiles fleeing the Civil War made a pretty good job embedding the football gene. Mexico are the reigning CONCACAF champions having beaten the surprise package Jamaica 3-1 in the final. Juan Carlos Osorio’s team is captained by Rafael Marquez who is the fourth most-capped player behind Gerrardo Torrado, Pavel Pardo and Claudio Suarez.
Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez is the team’s biggest star and current squad’s top scorer with 81 goals to his name. Chicharito is only eight goals behind Jared Borgetti who is the nation’s top scorer.
