Johan Cruijff Arena will be the centre of attention when Netherlands and Scotland lock horns in an eagerly-awaited friendly. The Oranje were having their ups and downs in the EURO 2024 qualifiers, but thanks to three consecutive wins over Greece, Ireland, and Gibraltar they eventually clinched their spot at the tournament in Germany. Ronald Koeman’s troops have big ambitions for the European Championship finals and they will surely use the upcoming friendlies as good preparation for their EURO opener. Fit-again Atletico Madrid striker Memphis Depay is back to the squad, with experienced midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum making his return as well.
Steve Clark’s men will take part at the EURO 2024 finals as well as they finished their qualifying campaign in second place in Group A. Anyhow, home win should be considered this time out as Netherlands have turned Johan Cruijff Arena into a real fortress. A man to watch in the away team will be Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn, who is enjoying yet another successful Premier League season. Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson and Man Utd midfielder Scott McTominay made the cut as well.

Ake is a professional footballer who plays for the Dutch National Team and AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League. The versatile defender who was born on the 18th of February, 1995, started his youth career in 2003 with local club ADO Den Haag. He then moved to Feyenoord in 2007 before joining Chelsea's youth academy four years later.
Ake made his first professional appearance at the age of 17, playing for the Blues in a 0-1 away victory against Norwich on the 26th of December, 2012. Barring a few starts and substitute appearances, Ake spent his next few years at Chelsea mostly in the reserves before being sent out on a one month loan to Reading in 2015. Upon his return, he immediately joined Watford on a season-long loan where his displays earned him the Watford's young player of the season award. Another successful loan spell at Bournemouth succeeded his time at Watford before Chelsea recalled him in January 2017.
At the start of the 17/18 season, the 24-year-old rejoined his current club Bournemouth permanently on a five-year contract worth 20 million pounds. On the International stage, Ake has represented the Netherlands at every youth level and has even captained the under-17 and under-19 sides. He made his first senior appearance on the 31st of May, 2017, featuring in Hollands 2-1 friendly win over Morocco.

Despite being part of United Kingdom Scotland participate in football competitions as an independent country. The Scots qualified for the 1950 FIFA World Cup finals, but the SFA eventually withdrew their entry as they were not British champions. Four years later Scotland national football team participated at the showpiece tournament in Switzerland, but they were eliminated in the group stages.
Scotland booked their place at the FIFA World Cup on eight occasions, but they have not played a match at the finals of the major tournament since 1998. On the other hand, the Scotts participated at both Euro 1992 and Euro 1996, but they failed to qualify for the knockout stages at the tournaments in Sweden and England respectively.
