Our prediction for this match:
Following a 1-1 draw with Basque Country, Uruguay will look to record their first win of the year when they face Ivory Coast at Stade Bollaert-Delelis in yet another friendly game. La Celeste have been producing fine displays in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, but it is more than obvious than boss Marcelo Bielsa is using March friendlies to test as many players as possible. All Olivera, Nandez, Ugarte, and Vinas are pushing for a start.
The Elephants, on the other hand, played out a 2-2 draw with Benin on Saturday. As Willy Boly limped off with injury at the weekend, Emmanuel Agbadou is likely to step up, while Borussia Dortmund striker Sebastien Haller has been ruled out with injury. Anyhow, the share of spoils is on the cards in Lens as the two national teams seem to be evenly matched at the moment. Reims midfielder Oumar Diakite is widely expected to return to the Ivory Coast starting eleven after scoring as a substitute against Benin.

Their second World Cup title came in 1950 when Uruguay and Brazil played a legendary match which recorded a higher attendance than any other football match in the history of the game. Uruguay is the smallest country in the world to have won a World Cup by population, but La Celeste are proud of their football heritage which yielded some of the best footballers in the world over the course of history.
