Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Burton Albion play host to MK Dons at Pirelli Stadium in what is expected to be a close League One encounter. The Brewers are undefeated in the previous four league fixtures, which is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of MK Dons. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has no fresh injury worries, and the former Chelsea ace is likely to field the best possible side against MK Dons.
The visitors, on the other hand, suffered a shocking 1-0 loss to relegation strugglers Doncaster at the weekend. Considering that the visitors are low on spirits ahead of the trip to Burton upon Trent, we are tempted to put our money on the playoffs-chasing hosts. Harry Darling faces race against clock to be fit for the midweek clash, but, as things stand now, he is unlikely to feature against Burton Albion.
Highlighted Player (Lucas Akins):
After making his first football steps in Huddersfield Town youth academy, Lucas Akins made his first-team debut against Northampton Town as he came as a substitute to replace Luke Beckett. However, he made no more than five appearances for Huddersfield Town as he was sent on loan to Nortwich Victoria.
After spending two seasons at Hamilton Academical, the winger, who was born on 25 February 1989, joined Tranmere Rovers in July, 2010. Lucas Atkins scored 7 goals in 77 appearances for the club and in 2012 he signed a contract with Stevenage. The English footballer played 77 league games for the Boro and he scored 13 goals for the club.
During the 2013/2014 campaign he was on Burton Albion’s radar and at the end of the season he joined the Pirelli Stadium outfit. Lucas Atkins enjoys playing football, but dancing is considered his passion as well. His main position is right wing, but he plays as both centre forward and left winger as well.
Highlighted Team (MK Dons):
Based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes Dons are a League One club that welcome their rivals at Stadium MK. The venue was opened in 2007 and can hold up to 30,500 spectators. Milton Keynes Dons play their home games in white shirts and white shorts, whilst their away kit is red.
The Dons are one of the youngest clubs in England as they were founded in 2004, but they are well known for youth development. English attacker is the club’s all-time top goal-scorer, netting 62 goals in 165 appearances for MK Dons. Dele Alli, who currently plays for Tottenham Hotspur, is the most famous footballer to have played for the Milton Keynes Dons, netting 18 goals in 62 appearances for the club in the league.
Speaking of notable coaches, it has to be noted that former Liverpool superstar Robbie Fowler and ex German international Dietmar Hamman were in charge of the club.
