Following a thrilling 3-3 draw with Charlton, Burton Albion will look to return to winning ways when they take on Plymouth on Matchday 19. The Brewers are desperate to escape the relegation zone, but they face an uphill task in Saturday’s encounter with the league leaders. Conor Shaughnessy remains in the recovery room, but there are no fresh injury worries in the home team.
The Pilgrims, on the other hand, are determined to return to the Championship, but they need to keep on improving their game if they are to turn the dream into reality. Both Finn Azaz and Dan Scarr are sidelined with injuries for the visitors, who are eyeing their fifth away win of the process. Sam Winnall began his professional career at the age of 19. The striker, who was born on 19 January, 1991, made his Wolverhampton debut in May 2009 and he has been playing for a number of English clubs ever since.
He was on loan at Burton Albion, Hereford United, Inverness CT and Shrewsbury Town and in the 2013/2014 campaign he signed a contract with Scunthorpe United. Sam Winnall scored 23 goals in 45 appearances for the club and, as a result, secured a lucrative move to Barnsley in 2014. He went on to score his first goal for Barnsley on 23 August 2014 in a 4-1 win over Gillingham.
Winnall helped Barnsley eliminate Walsall in the 2015/2016 League One semis as he scored a brace in the first leg. It has to be noted that he scored 23 goals in the English second tier in the 2015/2016 season. He provided 8 assists for his teammates during the season and he finished the campaign as the third highest goalscorer in the league, just behind Nicky Ajose and Will Grigg.
