Sheffield Wednesday
Alexandra Stadium will host Saturday’s football game between Crewe and Sheffield Wednesday, the two teams with entirely different ambitions in the 2021/2022 League One season. The Railwaymen desperately needed a win against Lincoln, and they managed to get one, but despite the triumph they remained in the relegation zone. Mikael Mandron, who scored a brace in the midweek victory, will be one of the men to watch in the home team. The Owls, on the other hand, are two points behind the League One playoffs berth.
Sheffield Wednesday head into the match following a goalless draw with Portsmouth, and given their fine form in late November and early December, away win should be considered. Keep in mind, though, that Australia midfielder Massimo Luongo misses out through suspension as he was sent off in the midweek draw. This will be the first meeting between the two sides since April 2006 when Crewe Alexandra defeated Sheffield Wednesday 2-0.

Donervon Daniels is a 186-cm-tall defender who plays for Wigan Athletic. He was born in Montserrat on 24 November, 1993 and he is a product of WBA football academy. After spending several seasons on loan at Tranmere Rovers, Gillingham, Blackpool and Aberdeen, Daniels signed for Wigan Athletic on a three-year-contract on June, 2015 and he netted his first goal for the Latics against Scunthorpe United two months later.
He made 33 appearances for Wigan in the 2015/2016 League One campaign and no doubt he helped the club secure promotion to the Championship. His main position is centre back, but he is capable of playing at right back as well. His highest market value was €250 000 on May 30, 2016.
Daniels has contract with Wigan Athletic which expires on 30 June, 2018. It has to be noted that that he was awarded WBA Young Player of the Year for the 2011/2012 season. Donvervon Daniels is a right-footed player.

Sheffield Wednesday are one of the two famous clubs from the city of Sheffield (South Yorkshire). The Owls compete in the English second tier (Championship) and they play their home matches at Hillsborough.
The venue was the scene of the Hillsborough disaster which occurred in 1989 when 96 Liverpool supporters were crushed to death in the FA Cup semi-final. It has to be noted that the World Cup (1966) and the Euro (1996) matches were played at Hillsborough.
Sheffield Wednesday have won four First Division trophies (1902/2903, 1903/1904, 1928/1929, 1929/2930) and they finished the 1960/1961 campaign in second place in the standings. The Owls have clinched three FA Cup trophies (1896, 1907, 1935), with the team winning the League Cup in 1991.
Sheffield Wednesday defeated English giants Manchester United (1-0) in the title game. Sheffield United are regarded as the Owls’ main rivals and the two teams face each other in the Steel City derby.
