Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Saturday’s football game at LNER stadium pits together Lincoln and Stevenage, the two teams who defeated Shrewsbury Town and Cambridge United respectively in midweek. The Imps are eight points behind the playoffs berth and their three-game winning run in League One is surely fuelling fans with optimism ahead of the visit of Stevenage. With no fresh injury worries to report, Michael Skubala is unlikely to make changes to the team that outplayed the Shrews.
The Boro, on the other hand, picked up all three points from the Cambridge United clash thanks to Jordan Roberts’ goal. Stevenage are eager to stay in the playoffs berth and, taking everything into account, we believe that punters from all around the globe can find value in betting on both teams to score. In their last meeting at the venue the two sides played out a 2-2 draw and we predict that history is going to repeat itself.
Highlighted Player (Teddy Bishop):
Having joined Ipswich as an eight-year-old, Teddy Bishop rose through the ranks at Portman Road to become one of the key players for the Tractor Boys. Bishop’s road to prominence hit a serious roadblock in his first year of the academy scholarship when he endured a serious back injury, but it was in 2014 that he went from strength to strength – proving his worth at the club and emerging as one of the most promising players in the squad.
The total of 36 appearances in his debut season with the first team were more than enough to make an impression on the fans and the club hierarchy which offered him a new long-term deal.
This deep-lying midfielder in characterized by impressive passing accuracy, vision and great reading of the play. Bishop is an asset defensively as well, but he is most comfortable sitting just above the back line, spraying balls around. As a two-footed midfielder, Teddy Bishop is regularly being watched by a number of Premier League biggest clubs.
Highlighted Team (Stevenage):
Based in Hertfordshire, England, Stevenage Borough are a professional club that compete in the League Two. The Boro are well known for their red and white home hit, while dark blue is the dominant colour of their away kit. Stevenage play their home games at Broadhall Way, the stadium which can hold up to 6,722 spectators and they were founded in 1976.
The Boro have won FA Trophy on two occasions (2006/07, 2008/09), with the team clinching the Herts Senior Cup title in the 2008/09 season thanks to a 2-1 win over Cheshunt. Luton are considered one of the club’s biggest rivals and there have always been fireworks in matches between the two sides.
In 2015 fighting broke out between rival fans near to the end of the clash at the Lamex. It has to be noted that Stevenage Borough were founded in 1976 after the bankruptcy of Stevenage Athletic.
