Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Reading will be looking to make amends for a massive 5-2 loss to Bolton when they take on Lincoln on Matchday 43. The Royals are eyeing their third consecutive win at home ground, but beating the in-form Imps is easier said than done. Ghana defender Andy Yiadom is widely expected to return to the starting XI after coming as a substitute in the last league match.
Michael Skubala’s troops, on the other hand, look unstoppable at the moment, with the team eyeing their sixth consecutive league win and we are positive that they will adopt yet another attack-minded approach after defeating Carlisle 3-1 at the weekend. As Reading have been involved in some high-scoring games of late as well, we believe that there is a big value in betting on over 2.5 goals. Michael Skubala is unlikely to make changes to the team that faced the Cumbrians.
Highlighted Player (Teddy Bishop):
Having joined Ipswich as an eight-year-old, Teddy Bishop rose through the ranks at Portman Road to become one of the key players for the Tractor Boys. Bishop’s road to prominence hit a serious roadblock in his first year of the academy scholarship when he endured a serious back injury, but it was in 2014 that he went from strength to strength – proving his worth at the club and emerging as one of the most promising players in the squad.
The total of 36 appearances in his debut season with the first team were more than enough to make an impression on the fans and the club hierarchy which offered him a new long-term deal.
This deep-lying midfielder in characterized by impressive passing accuracy, vision and great reading of the play. Bishop is an asset defensively as well, but he is most comfortable sitting just above the back line, spraying balls around. As a two-footed midfielder, Teddy Bishop is regularly being watched by a number of Premier League biggest clubs.
Highlighted Team (Reading):
Reading FC is a professional football club that play in the Championship. The club was formed in 1871 and Madejski Stadium has been the home of Reading since 1998. The Royals used to play their home games at Elm Park in the past (1896 - 1998). Reading made it to the FA Cup semi-finals on two occasions (1927, 2015), but they have yet to win the prestigious trophy.
The likes of Robin Friday, Trevor Senior, Steve Death, Shaka Hislop, Phil Parkinson, Alf Messer, Jimmy Quinn, Michael Gilkes, Ronnie Blackman, Pavel Pogrebnyak and Martin Hicks are some of their more notable footballers. Aldershot Town were considered Reading’s fiercest rivals, but the Shots went out of business in 1992.
Seeing that Aldershot rejoined the league in 2008 it remains to be seen if the rivalry is going to be re-established in near future. Swindon Town and Oxford United are considered Reading’s big rivals as well.
