Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Greenhouse Meadow will host Saturday’s football game between Shrewsbury and Wycombe, the two promotion-chasing sides. Shrewsbury suffered a 1-0 loss to Accrington at the weekend, and, as a result, they are eight points behind the playoffs berth. Steve Cotterill should opt to make changes to the team that faced the Accy Stanley, with both Pyke and Bayliss pushing for a start.
The Chairboys, on the other hand, look unstoppable at the moment, with the team eyeing their sixth consecutive league win. Since Wycombe have been in a much better form of late than Shrewsbury, we are tempted to put our money on the visiting side. Jack Grimmer limped off with injury in a 1-0 win over Bolton, with Jordan Willis likely to replace him in the starting XI. There are no other selection worries in the away team ahead of the trip to Shropshire.
Highlighted Player (Sullay Kaikai):
Sullay Kaikai is an English footballer who plays for Blackpool as a winger. Kaikai is a product of Crystal Palace football academy and it has to be noted that he made three appearances in the league for the Eagles before starting his loan spell with Crawley Town.
The 182-cm tall footballer, who is capable of playing as both winger and attacking midfielder, then signed a loan deal with Cambridge United where he scored 5 goals in 25 appearances in the league. Sullay Kaikai played for the likes of Shrewsbury Town, Brentford and Charlton Athletic before moving to Netherlands.
Kaikai, though, made only six appearances for NAC Breda in the Eredivisie before returning to England. Sullay Kaikai signed a two-year deal with Blackpool in July, 2019 with an option of a further year. The Blackpool winger was born in Southwark, London on August 26, 1995.
Highlighted Team (Shrewsbury):
Based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, Shrewsbury Town are a professional club that play home games at New Meadow stadium, the venue which was opened in 2007 and has the capacity of 10,361. Shrewsbury Town were founded back in 1886, with some reports indicating the club was established at the Lion Hotel.
The Blues wear blue shirts with yellow stripe and blue shorts when playing at home, whilst the colour of their away kit is purple. Mickey Brown holds the club record for most appearances as he played 190 games for the club, scoring 9 goals in the league. Both Wolverhampton and Walsall are regarded as the club’s fiercest rivals, but there have always been fireworks in matches between Shrewsbury Town and Hereford United as well.
The two teams face each other in the “A49 derby” and it has to be noted that the Blues have built rivalries with Chester City and Wrexham as well.
