Newport County
Chesterfield will be eager to end their five-game winless run in all competitions when they welcome Newport to the SMH Group Stadium. Despite a dip in form, the Spireites remain one of the promotion candidates, and the home fans expect a reaction here. They will, however, once again be without Butterfield, Dibley-Dias, and Donacien, who are still recovering from injuries. Chesterfield can take encouragement from the fact that they defeated Newport 2-1 in their last meeting at this venue.
Newport, on the other hand, continue to struggle with defensive consistency, as highlighted in their 3-1 loss to Gillingham. Both Liam Shephard and Matt Smith remain sidelined, leaving them somewhat weakened in key areas. The Exiles have shown they can cause problems going forward, but their backline is often exposed under pressure. With Chesterfield determined to bounce back in front of their supporters, this looks like a solid chance for the hosts to get back on course. Anyhow, we predict that the promotion-chasing hosts will pick up all three points from Saturday's clash.
