Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Exeter and Crawley go head to head at St James Park in what is expected to be an interesting League Two game. Exeter are only one point behind top three, meaning that Tuesday’s clash is of big importance for the home side. Both Harry Kite and Jonathan Grounds are sidelined with injuries, while Sam Nombe is a major doubt. The Red Devils, on the other hand, failed to impress in back-to-back losses to Bristol Rovers and Port Vale, with the team dropping to 13th place in the standings.
Crawley Town do not seem to be at their sharpest, and seeing that they have little to play for in the remainder of the season, we are tempted to put our money on the home side. The good news for the visitors is that Kwesi Appiah has overcome his injury, while right-back Archie Davies is likely to keep his place in the starting line-up.
Highlighted Player (Nicky Ajose):
Nicky Ajose is an English footballer who started his youth career at Manchester United. Despite signing a professional deal with the Red Devils, Ajose did not see any game action for the English giants at the senior level. After spending the 2010/2011 season on loan at Bury, the 168-cm tall forward signed a contract with Peterborough United in the summer of 2011.
Nicky Ajose played for the likes of Scunthorpe United, Chesterfield, Crawley Town, Bury, and Swindon Town on loan before joining Leeds United on a three-year deal in August 2014. However, the English striker made no more than three league appearances for the Whites before signing a loan deal with Crewe Alexandra. In September 2015, he returned to Swindon Town, signing a three-year contract with the Robins.
Nicky Ajose played for the likes of Charlton Athletic, Bury (loan), and Mansfield (loan) before moving to his current club Exeter City. The Grecians attacker was born in Bury, England, on October 7, 1991, and his preferred foot is right.
Highlighted Team (Crawley):
Crawley Town are an English football club that compete in the League 2. The club was founded back in 1896 and in the 2011/2012 season they secured promotion to the English fourth tier for the first time. The Devils play their home games at Broadfield Stadium, the venue which was built and opened in 1997.
The stadium has a capacity of 6,144 spectators and is owned by Crawley Borough Council. Crawley Town are well known for their red home kit, with the team wearing white shirts and sky blue shorts when playing on the travels. Crawley Town fans consider AFC Wimbledon the club’s biggest rivals, but they have rivalries with Brighton and Swindon Town as well.
In 1959 the Devils won the Metropolitan League Cup, which is considered one of the club’s biggest successes. Crawley Town won the Sussex Professional Cup in 1970, the Gilbert Rice Floodlight Cup in 1980 and 1984, the Southern Counties Combination Floodlight Cup in 1986, and the Sussex Senior Cup in 1990 and 1991.
