Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Blundell Park will host Tuesday’s postponed fixture between Grimsby Town and Newport County. The Mariners failed to impress in back-to-back losses to Exeter (1-4) and Colchester (1-2), with the team remaining in the danger zone. Grimsby Town attacker Sean Scannell suffered an injury at the weekend, and he is unlikely to feature against Newport. The Exiles, on the other hand, aim to build on a 2-1 win over Morecambe.
The league leaders aim to move one step closer to securing promotion to the League One, and they are likely to go all guns blazing at Grimsby Town. Since the Mariners have been struggling to find their form of late, we are tempted to put our money on the League Two leaders. In their last meeting in the English fourth tier Grimsby outplayed Newport 4-2, meaning that the visitors are hungry for revenge.
