Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Salford City and Bristol Rovers go head to head at Peninsula Stadium in the League Two round 18. The Lions did well to beat Harrogate 2-0 in their last league match, with the team keeping their playoffs hopes alive, but they need to keep on making progress if they are to secure a top-seven finish. Despite failing to find the net in the victory over Harrogate, Thomas-Asante Brandon should continue to lead the line for the hosts.
The Pirates, on the other hand, are undefeated in the previous three league fixtures. Following back-to-back wins over Harrogate and Northampton, Bristol Rovers shared the spoils with Tranmere in their last league match. However, beating Salford on the road is easier said than done; therefore, we are tempted to put our money on draw. A man to watch in the away team will be Sam Nicholson, who found the net in the draw with Tranmere.
Highlighted Player (Vaclav Hladky):
Born in Brno on November 14, 1990, Vaclav Hladky is a Czech footballer who plays for Scottish Premier League club St Mirren as a goalkeeper. Hladky spent his youth career at the likes of FC Sparta Brno, FK Sardice, and FC Zbrojovka Brno, and he continued playing for the Zbrojovka Brno reserve team at the senior level.
The 192-cm-tall shot-stopper played for the likes of MSK Breclav (loan) Sparta Brno, FK Sardice, FC Zbrojovka Brno (senior team), and Slovan Liberec before signing a contract with St Mirren. The Czech goalkeeper made his Scottish Premiership debut on January 23, 2019, in a 4-0 loss at Celtic.
Hladky played for the Czech Republic youth teams as well, but he has yet to earn a call-up for the Czech Republic senior team. Vaclav Hladky wears the No. 1 shirt at St Mirren, and his preferred foot is right.
Highlighted Team (Bristol Rovers):
Established back on August 1, 1883, Bristol Rovers are one of the oldest clubs in the League One. Bristol Rovers were formed after a meeting at the Eastville Restaurant under the name of Black Arabs after the Arabs rugby team.
This name, though, lasted no more than one season as the club was renamed Eastville Rovers in 1884. Five years later the club’s name was officially changes to Bristol Rovers. Nicknamed the Pirates, Bristol Rovers welcome their opponents at Memorial Stadium Horfield, the venue with the capacity of 12,296. Bristol Rovers are well known for their blue and white home kit, but they are dressed in yellow when playing on the travels.
Ricky Lambert, who used to play for the likes of Southampton and Liverpool in the Premier League, is regarded as one of the club’s most notable footballers. It has to be noted that Lambert scored 51 goals in 128 appearances for the Pirates in the league.
