Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Stade Raymond-Kopa will host Sunday’s football game between Angers and Nice. Les Scoistes aim to build on a 2-1 win over Rennes, and they must be high on confidence ahead of the visit of Nice. Enzo Ebosse, who suffered an injury at the weekend, is unlikely to feature against les Aiglons. You should bear in mind that Angers are eyeing their third home win of the season.
Nice, on the other hand, are undefeated in the previous four league fixtures, but home win should be considered in this one as Les Aiglons are not regarded as good travellers. The visitors head into the match following the Europa League clash against against Hapoel, which is yet another reason why we are tempted to put our money on les Scoistes this time out. Kasper Dolberg, who has overcome his injury, is likely to lead the line for the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Romain Thomas):
Romain Thomas is a product of Brest football academy and he made three appearances for the first team during his spell at Stade Francis-Le Bie. Thomas spent the 2008/2009 season on loan at Pacy Vallee-d’Eure and in 2010 he moved to lower-league side USJA Carquefou.
After spending three seasons at the club the 193-cm-tall defender, who is very good in the air, moved to Angers. Romain Thomas quickly established himself as a first team regular at the club and you should know that he made 36 appearances for the Ligue 1 side in the 2016/2017 season.
Despite playing as a defender, the French footballer often finds the net and he scored his first goal for Angers on September 27, 2013 in a 1-1 draw with Tours. The centre-back, whose preferred foot is right, was born in Landerneau, France on June 12, 1988. Romain Thomas’ contract with les Scoistes expires on June 30, 2019.
Highlighted Team (Nice):
OGC Nice are a football club that participate in French Ligue 1. Les Aiglons welcome their opponents at Allianz Riviera and the club was founded on 9 July, 1904 by Marquis Massengy d’ Auzac.
OGC Nice won their first Ligue 1 trophy back in 1951 and eight years later they clinched their fourth and last domestic title. Speaking of the French Cup, les Aiglons won their third Coupe de France title in 1997. Allianz Riviera has been the home ground of the club since September, 2013 and it has to be noted that the construction of the venue cost €250 million. OGC Nice play their home games in red and black shirts and black shorts, while the colour of their away kits is white.
The Ligue 1 team booked their place in the Europa League group stages for the 2016/2017 season for the first time in the club’s history and they were drawn alongside Schalke 04, Salzburg and Krasnodar in Group I. However, they were beaten by Schalke in their Europa League opener in front of home fans.
