Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Montpellier will be aiming to make amends for a heavy 5-2 loss at Lyon when they take on Metz in the Ligue 1 round 35. La Paillade have been totally out of form of late, and seeing that they have little to play for in the season finale, home win should not be considered. Defender Mihailo Ristic is back from suspension, while both Thibault Tamas and Pedro Mendes are out of contention with injuries.
Les Grenats, on the other hand, have slim chances of securing the Ligue 1 survival, but seeing that the hope dies last, we are tempted to put our money on the rock-bottom side this time out. Keep in mind, though, that both Jemerson and Oukidja are banned for the match after the duo was sent off in a 1-0 loss to Brest.
Highlighted Player (Téji Savanier):
Born in Montpellier on December 22, 1991, Teji Savanier is a French footballer who plays for Nimes in the Ligue 1 as a midfielder. Savanier began his senior career at Arles-Avignon and it has to be noted that he played for the club from 2011 to 2015.
Ahead of the start of the 2015/2016 Ligue 2 campaign, Teji Savanier joined Nimes and he has been playing for the club ever since. The 171-cm tall midfielder has established himself as a first-team regular at Nimes and he successfully plays for the club in the French top flight. Savanier’s main position is central midfield, but he is used as an attacking midfielder as well. His preferred foot is right.
Despite producing fine performances for Nimes in all competitions, Teji Savanier has yet to receive a call-up for the French national football team. His contract with Nimes should expire on June 27, 2018.
Highlighted Team (Metz):
Thanks to amalgamation of two amateur clubs Metz were founded in 1932 and soon they became a professional team. Les Grenats are one of the oldest professional teams in France, but they have yet to win the Ligue 1 trophy. Metz finished the 1997/1998 season in second place in the standings and it has to be noted that they were level on points with champions Lens (worse goal difference).
However, les Grenats won Coupe de France on two occasions (1983/1984, 1987/1988), with the team beating Monaco and Sochaux respectively in the title games. Emmanuel Adebayor is considered one of the most famous players who whore Metz jersey and you should know that the Togolese attacker scored 15 goals in 44 appearances in the league for the club.
Metz play their home games at Stade Saint-Symphorien, the venue which was opened back in September, 1923. Les Grenats wear red shirts and white shorts when playing at home, whilst the colour of their away kits is white.
