Sunday’s football game between Strasbourg and Olympique Lyon will bring down the curtain on the Ligue 1 round 1. Le Racing finished the last season in 15th place in the standings, only five points clear of the relegation zone and, no doubt, they are determined to record a much better result in the upcoming campaign. Midfielder Habib Diarra misses the season opener through suspension, while summer signing Emanuel Emegha should make his Strasbourg debut against Lyon.
Meanwhile, les Gones were struggling in preseason, with the team losing each of their last four warm-up games and seeing that Strasbourg are tough to beat at home, we do not believe that they are capable of grabbing more than one point from this match. Both Dejan Lovren and Anthony Lopes are sidelined with injuries, speaking of the visiting side. New recruit Mata is likely to make his Ligue 1 debut against Le Racing.

This goal gave him a reputation of a big game player, one he went on to uphold on various occasions at his club. Lacazette is a hard working forward an accomplished finisher of the ball able to score from different positions. The most prolific striker in his side and among the top ones in the Ligue 1, Alexandre Lacazette scored more than 20 league goals last two seasons on a trot.

Founded back in 1906, Strasbourg is a professional football team that compete in French Ligue 1. Le Racing did remarkably well to win the 1979 Ligue 1 trophy and that is considered the biggest success in the history of the club. Strasbourg won Coupe de France on three occasions (1951, 1966, 2001) and they have three Coupe de la Ligue trophies as well (1964, 1997, 2005).
