Our prediction for this MLS match:
Buoyed by back-to-back wins over Sporting Kansas City and Colorado Rapids, Atlanta United will be looking to extend their winning run in the Major League Soccer when they host Orlando City at their Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Five Stripes quickly bounced back from the slow start to the season and we predict that they are going to stick to their attacking style of play against Orlando City.
Josef Martinez has netted four goals so far this season and we predict that he is going to pose a big threat for the opposition defenders. The Lions, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from a 2-0 loss to Toronto, but they will have a mountain to climb in Sunday’s football match. It has to be noted that Atlanta emerged triumphant in each of their last three meetings in the Major League Soccer.
Highlighted Player (Florentin Pogba):
Florentin Pogba is a younger brother of famous French player Paul Pogba. Florentin was born in Conakry, Guinea, but he played for France U20 team. Unlike his brother, Florentin Pogba plays as a defender for Saint Etienne. He began his senior career at Sedan and he made 44 league appearances for the club in the 2011/2012 season.
In the summer of 2012 he moved to Saint Etienne, but he continued playing for Sedan on loan. After ending his loan spell with les Sangliers Florentin Pogba returned to Saint Etienne and he has been playing for the Ligue 1 outfit ever since. He scored his first goal for les Verts on 3 December n a 2-0 win over Montpellier.
On 11 August, 2010 Pogba made his Guinea debut, coming as a substitute in a 2-0 win over Mali in a friendly and he played his first competitive match for the national team in the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Mozambique. It has to be noted that his twin brother Mathias plays football as well.
Highlighted Team (Orlando City):
Orlando City are a member of the Eastern Conference in Major League Soccer. The Lions have been participating in the major league since 2015 and they host their rivals at Orlando City Stadium. The venue was opened in February, 2017 and the construction of the stadium cost $155 million. Orlando City finished the 2015 MLS season in seventh place in the Eastern Conference and they failed to make it to the play-offs in the 2016 season as well (8th place).
Brazilian ace Kaka is undisputedly the club’s most famous player and the former Real Madrid and Milan man became the highest-paid player in MLS history. His base salary was $6.6 million per year and it has to be noted that the Brazilian superstar found the net on his Orlando City debut against FC Dallas (friendly). Orlando City’s home kit is violet, while they wear white and violet shirts and white socks on the travels. The club’s official mascot is Kingston the Lion.
