Our prediction for this MLS match:
Buoyed by a 4-1 win over CF Montreal, Cincinnati will look to retain second place in Eastern Conference when they welcome Columbus Crew to their TQL Stadium on Sunday morning. Cincinnati quickly bounced back from a 2-0 loss to Inter Miami, with the team regaining a much-needed confidence, but they do not want to stop now. Argentina forward Luca Orellano should keep his place in the starting XI after scoring a brace against Montreal, while both Miles Robinson and Ian Murphy are out of contention with injuries.
Columbus, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 4-0 loss to Seattle Sounders, which is yet another reason why we are going to bet on the home side. In their last meeting in the Major League Soccer Cincinnati defeated Columbus Crew 2-1, which goes in favour of our earlier prediction. Abraham Romero is banned for the match, while fellow goalkeeper Evan Bush misses out with injury. As a result, Patrick Schulte should keep his place between the sticks.
Highlighted Player (Luciano Acosta):
Luciano Acosta is a professional footballer who plays for DC United as an attacking midfielder. Acosta was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on May 31, 1994 and he started his senior career at his hometown club Boca Juniors. After scoring 2 goals in 25 appearances for the famous Argentine club, the 160-cm tall footballer joined Estudiantes on loan in 2016.
In 2017 he moved to DC United and he has been playing for the MlS club ever since. Luciano Acosta impressed in the 2018 season, with the Argentina international scoring 10 goals, while providing 15 assists for his teammates in the process. Despite producing thrilling showings in the 2018 MLS campaign, he has yet to earn a call-up for the Argentina national football team.
Acosta’s main position is attacking midfielder, but he is capable of playing as both second striker and centre forward as well. He has a contract with DC United which should expire on December 31, 2019 and his preferred foot is right.
Highlighted Team (Columbus Crew):
Columbus Crew are an American soccer club based in Columbus, Ohio. The Black & Gold participate in the Eastern Conference and in 2008 they won both the conference and the MLS CUP final. Columbus Crew defeated New York Red Bulls in the MLS Cup final, with the likes of Moreno, Marshall and Hejduk scoring for the Black & Gold in the title game.
The club welcome their rivals at Mapfre Stadium, the venue which was opened on May, 15 1999. The current capacity of the stadium is 19.968 and it has to be noted that Mapfre Stadium is the first soccer-specific venue ever built for a MLS club.
A number of high-profile players were part of Columbus Crew in the past, but Guillermo Barros Schelotto is the most famous footballer that wore the black and yellow shirt. Schelotto played for Columbus Crew from 2007 to 2010 and during his spell with the Mapfre Stadium outfit the Black & Gold won the aforementioned MLS Cup.
