Our prediction for this MLS match:
Columbus Crew welcome New England Revolution to Lower.com Field in a clash between two Eastern Conference rivals with entirely different ambitions. The defending MLS Cup champions remain firmly in the playoff mix and will be eager to continue their dominance over New England, having won the last four meetings between the two sides. Their attacking style, combined with home advantage, makes Wilfried Nancy’s men heavy favorites heading into this encounter.
The hosts will, however, be without a couple of important players. Experienced defender Rudy Camacho is sidelined through injury, while midfield stalwart Darlington Nagbe continues to recover from heart problems. Despite these setbacks, Columbus boast enough depth in their squad, with stars like Cucho Hernández and Diego Rossi expected to shoulder responsibility. The visitors arrive in Ohio with no fresh injury concerns, yet their struggles against Columbus in recent years suggest a difficult evening could be on the horizon. Caleb Porter’s men often find themselves second best tactically against the Crew. With history and form on their side, Columbus are well placed to record another home win.
