Our prediction for this MLS match:
Audi Field will host Sunday’s MLS game between DC United and Toronto FC. The capital club aim to recover from a 4-2 loss to Montreal and they are likely to fight tooth and nail against Toronto. The opposition back-line should have Christian Benteke at bay as the Belgium forward scored a brace in the last league match. Bear in mind, though, that both Matti Peltola and Cristian Dajome are banned for the match.
The Reds, on the other hand, head into the game following a goalless draw with Philadelphia Union. Toronto are not regarded as good travellers, but seeing that DC United head into the match with a severely-weakened squad, we are tempted to bet on draw. The likes of Prince Osei Owusu, Richie Laryea, Shane ONeill, and Brandon Servania are out of contention with injuries for the away team, while Deybi Flores is pushing for a start.
Highlighted Player (Christian Benteke):
Christian Benteke, born on 3th of December 1990 is a Belgian football player with roots from Congo. Benteke started his career at KRC Genk and after playing for Standard Liege, KV Mechelen, KV Kortrijk and Aston Villa the striker got transferred to Liverpool. Benteke is 191cm and is known for being a very strong goal scoring striker. In May 2010 Benteke made his debut for the Belgian national team.
Christian Benteke didn’t win any mayor prices yet. In the season 2008/2009 he won the national league of Belgium. Benteke is signed by Nike and got transferred to Liverpool for 46 million euro which makes him the second most expensive football player from Belgium. Benteke’s nickname is The Beast or Bentegoal.
Highlighted Team (Toronto FC):
Toronto is a club based in Canada, but they have been competing in Major League Soccer since 2007. Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment own both the soccer club and National Hockey League’s Toronto Maple Leafs. BMO Field is the club’s home ground and the capacity of the stadium is 30.000.
The Canadian outfit impressed in the 2016 MLS Cup and they faced Seattle Sounders in the title game at BMO Field. However, the Canadians were more than unfortunate not to lift the silverware as they were beaten by the Sounders on penalties.
Speaking of the Canadian Championship, Toronto FC won their fifth domestic title in 2016, with the team beating Vancouver Whitecaps in the final of the tournament. Montreal Impact are considered the club’s biggest rivals and there have always been fireworks in meetings between the two Canadian sides. Toronto FC’s home kit is red and it is no surprise they are nicknamed the Reds. It has to be noted that the club was founded back in 2005.
