Our prediction for this MLS match:
New York City will be looking to build on a hard-fought 1-0 win over Atlanta United when they take on DC United at Red Bull Arena on Monday. New York City have been having their ups and downs of late, but, no doubt, the triumph over Five Stripes gave them a confidence boost. Even though both Heber and Zelalem are likely to miss the game with injuries, home win should be considered as DC United often struggle on the travels.
The capital club head into the match with a severely-weakened squad, with all Birnbaum, Flores, Odoi-Atsem, Skundrich, and Sorga missing the game with injuries. As previously mentioned, DC United are not regarded as good travellers, and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling New York City’s party at Red Bull Arena.
Highlighted Player (Alexander Ring):
Born in Helsinki, Finland, Alexander Ring is a Finnish footballer who plays for MLS club New York City. Before joining the City, Ring played for the likes of Klubi-04, Tampere United, HJK Helsinki, Borussia M’gladbach and Kaiserslautern.
His main position is central midfield, but he is capable of playing as a defensive midfielder and a right midfielder as well. Alexander Ring made his debut for the Finland national football team in June, 2011 in a 5-0 loss to Sweden. Despite the fact that he failed to impress on his debut, Finnish football star Roman Eremenko described him as a fantastic player.
Over the years Ring has established himself as a first-team regular in the national team and it has to be noted that he scored his first ever goal for Finland on March 26, 2013 against Luxembourg. Speaking of his club trophies, the Finnish footballer won the national championship with Helsinki on two occasions (2010, 2011). His preferred foot is right.
