Our prediction for this MLS match:
Philadelphia Union will look to remain undefeated in the 2024 MLS campaign when they take on Real Salt Lake at Subaru Park. Following three consecutive league wins, the U’s shared the spoils with Atlanta United in their last league match, while their clash with Seattle Sounders was abandoned. All Holden Trent, Isaiah LeFlore, and Leon Flach are all out of contention with injuries.
The Royals, on the other hand, aim to build on a 4-0 win over Chicago Fire. As Real Salt Lake are likely to adopt yet another attack-minded approach against Philadelphia, we are tempted to put our money on over 2.5 goals. In their last meeting at the venue the U’s outplayed the Royals 4-1. It has to be noted that all Alexandros Katranis, Brayan Vera, Justen Glad, Marcelo Silva, Erik Holt, Pablo Ruiz, and Kevin Bonilla miss out with injuries for the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Andre Blake):
Andre Blake is a Jamaican goalkeeper who plays for MLS club Philadelphia Union. Blake was born in May Pen, Jamaica, on November 21, 1990, but he went to the UConn college in United States of America. The 193-cm-tall shoot-stopper spent three years playing college football and in 2014 he signed a professional contract with Philadelphia Union.
Andre Blake made his debut for the U in July 2014 in a friendly game against Crystal Palace and he played his first MLS match against Montreal Impact. Speaking of his international career, the goalkeeper made his Jamaica debut on March 2, 2014 in a 2-0 victory over Barbados. Later that year Andre Blake won the Caribbean Cup with the Reggae Boyz as they defeated Trinidad and Tobago on penalties in the title game.
Over the years Blake has established himself as a first-team regular and, no doubt, there is a bright future ahead of him. The Philadelphia Union shoot-stopper wears the number 18 on his shirt.
Highlighted Team (Real Salt Lake):
Real Salt Lake joined Major League Soccer in 2005 as an expansion team of the league and four years later they won their first MLS Cup. The Royals faced star-studded Los Angeles Galaxy in the title game at Qwest Field in Seattle and Jason Kreis’ troops defeated David Beckham and Co. on penalties.
In 2013 Real Salt Lake made it to the MLS Cup final for the second time in the club’s history, but they were beaten by Sporting Kansas City on penalties this time out. The Royals participated in the CONCACAF Champions League final in 2011 as well, but Monterrey of Mexico eventually won the title. Real Salt Lake footballers wear red shirts and blue shorts when playing at home, while the colour of their away kit is white.
The likes of Clint Mathis, Jeff Cunningham and Eddie Pope are some of the notable footballers who played for the club in the past. Jeff Cunningham scored 19 goals in 32 appearances in the league for the Royals.
