Our prediction for this MLS match:
Thanks to a hard-fought 1-0 win over Houston Dynamo Seattle Sounders put an end to their four-game winless run in the Major League Soccer. Brian Schmetzer’s troops sit in third position in the Western Conference ahead of the visit of Orlando City and they want to stay in the race for top place. Seattle Sounders have been producing fine performances at their CenturyLink Field this season and they are seen as favourites to win the midweek clash against the Lions.
The visitors, on the other hand, failed to impress in back-to-back losses to the likes of Toronto and Atlanta United and seeing that they have been struggling in front of goal at the start of the season, we predict that James O’Connor’s troops are going to return home empty-handed. You should bear in mind that Seattle emerged triumphant in three of last four meetings between the two teams.
Highlighted Player (Victor Rodriguez):
Victor Rodriguez is a professional player who began his senior career at Vilajuiga, playing 36 matches for the club and scoring 11 goals. After spending three years at Badalona the pacey winger joined Zaragoza and it has to be noted that he scored six goals in 72 appearances for the Estadio La Romareda outfit in La Liga. On 7 August, 2014 Victor Rodriguez signed a three-year deal with Elche, but in August 2015 he was sent to Getafe on loan. Rodriguez scored two goals in 33 appearances for los Azulones in the 2015/2016 Primera Division campaign, but following Getafe’s relegation to Segunda Division, he signed a four-year deal with Sporting Gijon in the 2016 summer transfer window. Victor Rodriguez has yet to make his Spain debut, but he played for Catalonia in a friendly game. The Sporting Gijon winger is capable of playing as an attacking midfielder as well. Rodriguez was born in Barcelona on 23 July, 1989.
Highlighted Team (Orlando City):
Orlando City are a member of the Eastern Conference in Major League Soccer. The Lions have been participating in the major league since 2015 and they host their rivals at Orlando City Stadium. The venue was opened in February, 2017 and the construction of the stadium cost $155 million. Orlando City finished the 2015 MLS season in seventh place in the Eastern Conference and they failed to make it to the play-offs in the 2016 season as well (8th place).
Brazilian ace Kaka is undisputedly the club’s most famous player and the former Real Madrid and Milan man became the highest-paid player in MLS history. His base salary was $6.6 million per year and it has to be noted that the Brazilian superstar found the net on his Orlando City debut against FC Dallas (friendly). Orlando City’s home kit is violet, while they wear white and violet shirts and white socks on the travels. The club’s official mascot is Kingston the Lion.
