Our prediction for this MLS match:
Toronto and Inter Miami go head to head at BMO Field in the Major League Soccer on Saturday morning. The Reds missed out on a spot in the MLS playoffs, meaning that they have nothing to play for against the Herons. Midfielder Lucas MacNaughton is banned for the match, while both Doneil Henry and Chris Mavinga should miss out with injuries.
Inter Miami, on the other hand, aim to build on back-to-back wins over Columbus Crew and DC United, which helped them climb to the playoffs berth. Since the Gonzalo Higuain and Co. want this win more than the Reds, we are tempted to put our money on the visiting side. Defenders Brek Shea and Ian Fray are out of contention with injuries, as well as forward Robbie Robinson, who has yet to recover from a hamstring problem.
Highlighted Player (Alex Bono):
Alex Bono is an American footballer who plays for Toronto FC as a goalkeeper. Born in Syracuse, New York on April 25, 1994, Bono started his career at Reading United. After making 18 appearances for the club, the 24-year-old shot-stopper moved to Toronto FC in 2015 and he has been playing for the Reds ever since.
In 2017 Alex Bono won the MLS cup as Toronto defeated Seattle Sounders 2-0 in the title game. The 191-cm-tall goalkeeper won the Canadian Championship on three occasions (2016, 2017, 2018) and it has to be noted that he clinched fourth place in the 2017 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year Award.
Speaking of his international career, Alex Bono was called into a training camp for the USA men’s national soccer team in January, 2015. He made his senior debut on May 28, 2018 against Bolivia, keeping a clean-sheet in the 3-0 victory over the South American side.
Highlighted Team (Inter Miami):
Inter Miami is an American football (soccer) club that has been competing in the Major League Soccer since 2020. The Herons faced Los Angeles FC on their MLS debut, with the team suffering a 1-0 loss at Venue Banc of California Stadium.
Inter Miami recorded their first MLS win on August 23, 2020, with the team beating Orlando City 3-2 during the coronavirus pandemic. The Herons wear white shirts and violet shorts when playing at home, while black is the dominant colour of their away jersey. Inter Miami welcome their rivals at Inter Miami FC Stadium, the venue which can hold no more than 18,000 spectators.
The stadium was opened on July 18, 2020. Former Manchester United and England ace David Beckham shares the ownership of the club with the likes of Marcelo Claure, Jorge and Jose Mas, and Masayoshi Son. Uruguay tactician Diego Alonso is the first head coach in the history of the club.
