Vancouver Whitecaps and Colorado Rapids face each other at BC Place in the closing match of the MLS round 3. Vancouver did well to beat Portland thanks to Cavanilini’s goal in their opener, with the team sharing the spoils with fellow Canadian outfit in their second game of the season. Marc Dos Santos’ men, though, will have a much bigger fish to fry in Monday’s clash against Colorado.
The Rapids are likely to leave their hearts on the field as they aim to make amends for a shocking 3-1 loss to newcomers Austin FC. Colorado are eyeing their first win of the season, and seeing that Vancouver experienced all sorts of problems at the back in the draw with Toronto, away win should be considered. Andre Shinyashiki should keep his place up front alongside Rubio after finding the net in the defeat to Austin.

Born in Campo de la Cruz, Colombia on July 26, 1987, Fredy Montero is a pacey forward who plays for Vancouver Whitecaps in the Major League Soccer. Montero played for famous Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon from 2014 to 2016 and the Lions and during that period the Lions won Taca da Liga on two occasions and one Taca de Portugal trophy.
In 2019 he moved to Vancover Whitecaps, signing a permanent deal with the MLS club. Fredy Montero made his MLS debut in a 3-2 loss to Montreal Impact on March 3, 2019. As for his international career, the Vancouver footballer played his first match for the Colombia national team on May 9, 2007 in a 4-0 win over Panama.
The striker scored his first goal for los Cafeteros against Catalonia on December 29, 2008. Fredy Montero’s main position is second striker, but he is used as a centre-forward as well. His preferred foot is right and his contract with the Canadian outfit should expire in December, 2020.

Colorado Rapids is a Major League Soccer club and they compete in the USA professional soccer league as a member of the Western Conference. Colorado began their play in MLS back in 1996 and 14 years later they managed to win the MLS Cup trophy. The Rapids recorded a 2-1 win over FC Dallas in the final of the tournament, with George John scoring the winner for Gary Smith’s team in the extra time. Colorado made it to the MLS Cup final in 1997 as well, but D.C. United proved to be a big catch for the club in the title game.
The Rapids play their home games at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and the venue has been Colorado’s home ground since 2007. It has to be noted that the likes of Tim Howard, Carlos Valderama, Claudio Lopez and Jermaine Jones were all part of the club in the past. Colorado’s colors are red, sky blue and white, but they were yellow shirts and blue shorts when playing on the travels.
