Jaber Al Ahmad International Stadium will host Friday’s WC qualifier between Nepal and Australia. The Socceroos are one point away from clinching top position in Group B, but they surely want to keep their 100% record intact. Even though Mooy and Rogic have been left out of the squad, away win should be considered as Nepal have nothing to play for in Friday’s game.
Experienced attacker Mitchell Duke should keep his place in the starting XI after scoring a brace in the 5-1 win over Chinese Taipei. Nepal experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-0 loss to Jordan, which is yet another reason why we are going to put our money on the Group B leaders. Despite being born in Singapore on November 17, 1993, Ryan Edwards is eligible to represent Australia in international matches. The 175-cm-tall midfielder has 18 caps with Australia U-23 and it has to be noted that he played for the Socceroos at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Speaking of his club career, Edwards is a product of AIS, the high performance sports training institution from Australia, but in 2011 he was spotted by Reading scouts.
