Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
This prediction will be released soon.Ajax and Emmen face each other at Johan Cruijff Arena in a David-vs-Goliath clash. The Amsterdammers faced no difficulties in a 4-0 win over Fortuna Sittard, but that is unlikely to help them defend their trophy. Ajax’s new goal is to book a spot in the Champions League, and with PSV breathing down their neck, this has to go down as yet another must-win game for John Heitinga’s troops. Both Mohammed Kudus and Devyne Rensch are sidelined with injuries, but Heitinga can count on key players for Sunday’s encounter.
Emmen, on the other hand, are sitting in the danger zone, only one point clear of bottom three. Considering that Dick Lukkien’s troops have already suffered ten defeats on the road this season, we predict that Ajax are going to pick up all three points from the match. In their last meeting in Amsterdam Ajax outclassed Emmen 4-0.
Highlighted Player (Steven Bergwijn):
Steven Bergwin is a product of ASC Waterwijk football school, but in 2009 he was spotted by Ajax scouts. In 2011 he moved to PSG and he continued playing for the club’s reserve team at senior level. He made his debut with the senior team on May 20, 2015 in a 2-0 win over Heracles.
Over the years the Dutch footballer born in Amsterdam on October 8, 1997, has established himself as a first-team regular at PSV, earning a call-up for the national team as well. Steven Bergwijn made his Netherlands debut on October 12, 2018 in a 3-0 win over Germany. His main position is left winger, but he is used as both right winger and centre-forward as well.
His preferred foot is right and it has to be noted that his parents are of Suriname descent, he has a dual citizenship. Bergwijn scored 14 goals in 33 appearances for PSV in the 2018/2019 Eredivisie season.
Highlighted Team (Ajax):
Ajax is a Dutch football club that was founded on 18 March, 1900. Ajax are well known for their youth academy, which regarded as one of the best youth football schools in the world. The likes of Johan Cruijff, Edwin van der Sar, Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Kluivert, Rafael van der Vaart and Marco van Basten are all products of Ajax’s football academy. The Amsterdammers share a big rivalry with Feyenoord and there have always been fireworks when the two teams face each other in De Klassieker.
During the seventies Feyenoord and Ajax were the only two teams who were capable of winning the domestic trophies, while PSV have been playing an important role in Dutch football in the 21st century. PSV and Ajax are regarded as big rivals as well and the two teams square off against each other in De Topper. Ajax play their home games at Amsterdam ArenA, the stadium that was opened on 14 August, 1996. The Amsterdammers won their fourth European Cup (Champions League) trophy in 1995, beating Milan in the title game in Vienna.
