Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
AZ Alkmaar and Emmen face each other in a David-vs-Goliath clash at AFAS Stadion on day 9 of the new Eredivisie campaign. AZ quickly bounced back from the Europa League defeat to Real Sociedad, with the team rolling over Heerenveen 3-0 in their last league match. A man to keep an eye on in the home team will be left back Owen Wijndal, who has been producing fine displays with both AZ Alkmaar and the Netherlands of late.
Emmen, on the other hand, made a slow start to the season, with the team collecting only three points from possible 24. The relegation strugglers are on a three-game losing run in the Eredivisie, and they are unlikely to spoil AZ Alkmaar’s party at AFAS Stadion. In their last meeting in the Dutch elite division AZ Alkmaar recorded a routine 3-0 win over Emmen.
