Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
A spot in the 2023/2024 Eredivisie campaign will be at stake when Emmen and Almere City face each other at De Oude Meerdijk on Sunday afternoon. Almere City won the first leg 2-0 and they are now on a quest to defend their two-goal lead in Emmen. There are no fresh injury worries in the away team, while the opposition back-line should have Lance Duijvestijn at bay as the 24-year-old midfielder scored a brace in the first leg.
The hosts, on the other hand, have no other option but to go all guns blazing De Zwarte Schapen. In their last meeting at the venue Emmen outplayed Almere City 3-0 and seeing that Dick Lukkien’s troops are a real force to be reckoned with at home, we are tempted to put our money on the Eredivisie outfit. The likes of Guclu, Hardeveld, Kieftenbeld, Lieder, and Mendes have been struggling with injuries of late.
Highlighted Player (Anco Jansen):
Born in Zwolle, Netherlands on March 9, 1989, Anco Jansen is a pacey winger who started his senior career in his home-town club FC Zwolle. After scoring two goals in 40 league appearances for the club, he joined Groningen in 2008, but he did not see any game action with the Green and White Army in the Eredivisie.
Anco Jansen played for the likes of Cambuur, SC Veendam, De Graafschap, Roda JC, and Boluspor as well before joining FC Emmen in 2017. Anco Jansen made his Eredivisie debut with FC Emmen in a 2-1 win over ADO Den Haag on August 12, 2018, with the winger finding the net after 42 minutes.
His main position is left winger, but he is used as both centre-forward and attacking midfielder as well. His preferred foot is right. Anco Jansen has yet to earn a call-up with the Netherlands national football team.
