Sittard
Feyenoord begin defence of their title with a game against Fortuna Sittard at their De Kuip. The reigning champions are once again seen as one of the main candidates for the silverware, but keep in mind that the likes of Danilo and Orkun Kokcu have left the club in the summer transfer window. On the other hand, new recruits Ayase Ueda, Ramiz Zerrouki, and Calvin Stengs are expected to make an immediate impact. There are no injury worries in the home team ahead of the visit of Sittard.
Meanwhile, the visiting side secured the Eredivisie survival without any difficulties last season and they are eager to repeat the success. Danny Buijs’ troops, though, will have a mountain to climb in the opening match of the season as Feyenoord have turned their stadium into a real fortress. To make things even worse for the away team, attacker Thomas Buitink joined Vitesse earlier this summer.

Born in Jirandeh, Iran on August 11 1990, Alireza Jahanbakhsh is a footballer who plays for AZ Alkmaar in Holland. Before AZ, Jahanbakhsh played for NEC in the Eredivisie, but he began his youth career at Payam Alborz Qazvin. Speaking of his senior debut, he made it with Damash Tehran in the 2010/2011 season.
In 2011 he moved to fellow Iranian club Damash Gilan and it has to be noted that he scored 10 goals in 44 appearances in the league for the club. The AZ Alkmaar winger, who is used as an attacking midfielder as well, scored 21 goals in 33 appearances in the Eredivisie in the 2017/2018 season. Speaking of his international career, Alireza JahanBakhsh scored two goals for Iran on the road to Russia and he will represent his homeland at the 2018 FIFA world cup finals.
Due to his style of play, Jahanbakhsh has always been compared to legendary Iranian footballer Mehdi Mahdavikia.

Fortuna Sittard is one of the newer additions to Dutch football as the club was founded on July 1, 1968. During the 1990s talented footballers such as Kevin Hofland, Mark van Bommel, and Fernando Ricksen played for the club, but they failed to close the gap between Dutch giants Ajax and PSV. In 1999, though, the Fortunezen did well to make it to the Dutch Cup final, with the team facing Ajax in the title game.
