Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
After sharing the spoils with Feyenoord at the weekend, Groningen will be aiming to return to winning ways in the Eredivisie when they host NEC Nijmegen to their Euroborg on Saturday. The Green and White Army are ten points behind the Conference League berth, meaning that this has to go down as a must-win game for the home team. Goalkeeper Jan Hoekstra remains in the recovery room, while Radinio Balker is a major doubt.
The visitors, on the other hand, head into the match following back-to-back losses to Vitesse and AZ Alkmaar. NEC have been struggling at the back of late, which is probably the main reason why we are going to put our money on Groningen this time out. Midfielder Mikkel Duelund, who suffered an injury at the weekend, is unlikely to feature in Saturday’s clash, while both Wilfried Bony and Jordy Bruijn.
