Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Heerenveen have been making progress week by week and will try to give fans yet another reason for celebration when they face Twente. After suffering a heavy 5-0 loss to Ajax at the weekend, the hosts will look to get back on course on Matchday 7, but they will have a mountain to climb against Twente. The home side are likely to rely on their rock-solid defence in Sunday’s game, as they conceded just one goal in the national championship before the Ajax debacle. Tibor Halilovic will have to serve his ban against Twente.
The Tukkers, on the other hand, are in fine from, collecting seven points in their last three league games. Ron Jans’ troops aim to move closer to the Champions League berth and they will surely give 100% to pick up all three points from Sunday’s clash. Anyhow, there is a big value on betting on over 2.5 goals since both sides have been sharp in front of goal in the first half of the season. Both Sem Steijn and Julio Pleguezuelo are major doubts, while Michal Sadílek and Dimitrios Limnios remains in the treatment room.
Highlighted Player (Erwin Mulder):
Erwin Mulder is an experienced Dutch footballer who plays for Heerenveen as a goalkeeper. Mulder spent his youth career at R.K.P.S.C, Vitesse Arnhem, and Feyenoord, and he continued playing for the Rotterdam club at senior level.
After making 120 appearances in the Eredivisie with Feyenoord, the 193-cm-tall shot-stopper signed for Heerenveen as a free agent in the summer of 2015. It has to be noted, though, that Erwin Mulder was loaned to Excelsior during his spell with Feyenoord. His next stop was Swansea City where he made 29 league appearances before returning to Heerenveen in 2020.
Erwin Mulder was born in Pannerden on March 3, 1989, and he has three caps with the Netherlands U20 team. He has yet to earn a call-up with the Oranje senior team. The Heerenveen goalkeeper was named in the Netherlands Euro 2012 provisional squad, but after the training with the national team, he failed to make the cut.
Highlighted Team (Twente):
Based in the city of Enschede, Twente is a Dutch football club that welcomes their rivals at De Grolsch Veste. The venue was opened on May 10, 1998, and the capacity of the stadium is 30,205 people. The club was founded in 1965 as a merger of Sportsclub Enschede and Enschedese Boys.
The Reds did remarkably well to win the Eredivisie title in the 2009/10 season, with the team finishing the process only one point clear of Dutch giants Ajax. As a result, Twente booked their place in the Champions League group stages. The Reds did well to collect six points in their group, but that did not help them make it to the last 16.
Twente are well known for their red jerseys, but they wear dark blue shirts when playing on the travels. The Reds take on Heracles Almelo in the Twentse Derby. Sander Boshchker is leading Twente’s all-time goal-scoring chart with 653 goals on his account.
