Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
NEC Nijmegen will look to extend their winning run in all competitions to four games when they take on Heerenveen in the Eredivisie round 12. NEC have been scoring goals for fun of late, and we are positive that htey will adopt yet another attack-minded approach in Saturday’s football match. All Joep van der Sluijs, Pedro Ruiz, and Mikkel Duelund should miss out with injuries, while both Mathias de Wolf and Rens Van Eijden are major doubts.
Heerenveen, on the other hand, suffered yet another dip in form, and given their three-game losing run in the Dutch top flight, we believe that home win should be considered. Ibrahim Dresevic serves a one-game ban following his sending off in a 2-1 loss to Vitesse, while both Erwin Mulder and Pawel Bochniewicz should miss out with injuries for the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Erwin Mulder):
Erwin Mulder is an experienced Dutch footballer who plays for Heerenveen as a goalkeeper. Mulder spent his youth career at R.K.P.S.C, Vitesse Arnhem, and Feyenoord, and he continued playing for the Rotterdam club at senior level.
After making 120 appearances in the Eredivisie with Feyenoord, the 193-cm-tall shot-stopper signed for Heerenveen as a free agent in the summer of 2015. It has to be noted, though, that Erwin Mulder was loaned to Excelsior during his spell with Feyenoord. His next stop was Swansea City where he made 29 league appearances before returning to Heerenveen in 2020.
Erwin Mulder was born in Pannerden on March 3, 1989, and he has three caps with the Netherlands U20 team. He has yet to earn a call-up with the Oranje senior team. The Heerenveen goalkeeper was named in the Netherlands Euro 2012 provisional squad, but after the training with the national team, he failed to make the cut.
Highlighted Team (Heerenveen):
Heerenveen is a Dutch football club that is well known for their white shirts with blue stripes. De Superfriezen (The Super Frisians) play home matches at Abe Lenstra Stadium, which has the capacity of 26,400 people.
Heerenveen have yet to win the Eredivisie title, but they impressed in the 1999/00 season, with the team finishing the process in second position in the standings. Thanks to a top-two finish, the club booked their place in the Champions League. Heerenveen, though, recorded only one in the group stages of the elite competition as they defeated Olympiakos 1-0 at home ground. De Superfizien retain a fierce rivals with Cambuur, and there have always been fireworks in clashes between the two teams.
It has to be noted that Heerenveen won the Dutch Cup in the 2008/09 season, with the team beating Twente on penalties in the title game. New Chelsea signing Hakim Ziyech played for Heerenveen at the start of his senior career.
